cleaning sucks

might as well make it look cute!

a lot of times when i clean my house i forget to do something and by the time i remember, i already am half way through a Law & Order episode and i'll be damned if i abandon it before I know what happens! what i've decided to do (no final pictures, yet), is create a simple, pared down day to day cleaning checklist that can be really helpful in making sure everything gets done and there's no "oh shit" moment later on.

and in order to be moderately environmentally friendly, i'm going to take it to my local Kinkos and have them laminate it for me.  you could also order a relatively inexpensive laminating machine and then go to town, laminating everything from phone lists to oft-used recipes (thats actually a good idea, cause mine always get soiled!!).  then i'm going to attach a self-adhesive magnetic strip to it, and put it on my fridge. that way it's always there, taunting you - "clean, you lazy a-hole.".

and also that way you can just erase it and start again. just don't forget to use a dry erase marker!! this is also good for chores lists and spring clean lists, etc etc. basically anything you will have to repeat over and over until your dying day. isn't life awesome? lol.

anyway, here you go.

simple directions:

1. print onto 8.5x11 paper

2. laminate or take to local kinko's

3. attach magnetic tape

4. your house is dirty, clean it up!

xo

Oh my god! This is perfect. In an effort to be more "budget conscious" (aka - Alanna has spent too much money on the credit card) we have our cleaning person coming only once a month. The house is currently filthy. I'm definitely going to use this!
