crochet, shantay!

well, maybe it did...

eliza doolittle and i are doing something very exciting tonight.  no we are not going to a movie premiere. no, we are not going out, sassafrass style. no, we are not going sky diving.

we are.... wait for it.... taking a crochet class!

my version of The Last Frontier, crochet is something i have not grasped in any way, shape or form. so when i saw that my favorite pornography shop (aka Purl Soho) was offering a crochet class, i got very excited. and nervous. the last class i took was a beginner's quilting class and it was amazing. i was SO scared for that class, but it was totally worth it.  i will share the chronicles of narnia (or, my granny square blanket) with you when we complete our first class!

once and for all

i'm going to learn how to crochet - my personal last frontier of crafting.  after 2 years of books, online tutorials, and some trial and error, and one intensive class i've managed to teach myself to knit, embroider, hand sew, and quilt.  there are two things i'd now like to learn how to do: sew baby/children's clothes and crochet. i've been taught to crochet before but i just don't get it. i wish i did, because then i could create things like THIS:

purl never ceases.

i may just have to take their crochet class and get lurnin'.
