so i know i've been busy but i really couldn't stop myself from posting the perfection that is AshleyG.  A while ago (uh, May) I commissioned a portrait from her for Jamie's and my 2 year wedding anniversary.  Well, I was REALLY slow on the uptake with taking pictures, and it took me almost 3 months to get the pictures over to her. But just in time for Jamie's birthday in September, it arrived!  She did such a spectacular job, I couldn't have been happier. And Jamie totally loves it too.  We are gonna frame it and have it hung up in the baby's room.  My mom said "Aw, like Guardian Angels"... and I said "Or, just parents"... She is slightly more romantic than I.  A

Good lord.

What a whirlwind week. A lot has gone on and I'm JUST finishing getting organized in this new house.  I'm still not up and running on the office front - am in the living room with a million degree laptop on my knees.... But in the meantime I want to brag about my super awesome husband.  His company, 4mm Games, is coming out with their rap karaoke game, Def Jam Rapstar on October 5th.  It is truly amazing and really is elite on every level.  It's not just a karaoke game, its so much more.  It spans over 20 years of hip hop and will have tons of downloadable content after you purchase the game.  There's voice recognition technology in the game so you HAVE to know what you're doing - you can't just hum your way through the game like stupid Singstar.  Honestly, it is super fun to play and I highly HIGHLY recommend it for sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, boyfriends, girlfriends... srsly anyone will have fun.  I'm not just hyping it cause its my husband - I would most likely talk about how badass it is anyway.  Anyway pre-order it on Amazon so you can give a super awesome present to someone you love for any reason.  Or buy it for yourself. and they lived happily ever after

so a few weeks ago i posted here about my friends' sam and ian one year anniversary gala (the four of us sitting in my makeshift dining room - very exclusive event).  they were married on june 20th, 2009.  i have known Sam since the day I was born, our mothers are best friends, I was the maid of honor.  It felt only right to make something special and elaborate for their gift.  I hadn't started learning to quilt at the time of their wedding but I had minor sewing skills (i made their ring pillow, seen here and here. you can also kind of see it on their bed below) and I knew I wanted to accomplish something ambitious.

tag, you're it!

i dont know about you but i've been invited to a lot of parties lately and find myself being really boring and always always bringing booze or wine.  however, boring is easy and everyone likes a good bottle of wine. just don't uncork it and drink it all yourself in a corner....

because a lot of these parties are last minute and i dont exactly feel like scrambling up unique tags for each gift, i started mass producing my own little tags. they've come in handy for birthday gifts, party favors, etc etc. you know the drill.  here are some cute tags i made just for you!
