Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 6:31PM i haven't really felt like blogging lately, and that's ok. it's annoying - the pressure to come up with content daily or even weekly (or monthly, these days). but i still like having it here for the times i want to show you some things. i get these gap.com emails. ugh. but sometimes they really give you a LOT off and so yesterday there was a 25% off sale and i still had some bits and bobs i wanted to get for baby (this is still her name. "Baby"). I got some neutral layette pieces and some lil socks, but i also hit the jack pot with other cute stuff that I would totally totally wear myself. granted, 90% of what i found for my baby girl was in the boy's section. i hate all that bright ruffly crap with giant polka dots and big screen printed flowers and cheesy text. granted i did buy one ruffly and kind of ridiculous skirt but my intention was to hang it on the wall more than have her actually wear it...? who knows. anyway here are a few of the many (many) things i purchased last night on ggggggap.com

clockwise from top left: eyelet dress, dip-dye tulle skirt, lined chambray shirt, pattern bodysuit, striped sweater pants, railroad stripe one-piece, tuxedo shirt bodysuit
this one is by far and away my favorite and i'm SUPER BUMMED they don't make it in human person size. mabye i can squeeze into it once i lose the baby weight....

Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:39AM So yesterday I had a pretty annoying day. Just every stupid thing went wrong, a bunch of people let me down, I ate 5 (read it, 5) brownies. It just, all in all, kept me up at night and kept my heart and blood pressure at a steady VOLCANO pace. anyway, i decided today that (pardon my french) "FUCK IT" would be my weekend motto so I bought a few really cute things from etsy boutique Liddle. I found her via my favorite daily read Oh Happy Day! - which, if you don't have bookmarked, you should. Liddle has the CUTEST vintage baby clothes and most for under like $15! I bought 2 super j'adorable things, see belowsies.

could you just die?

Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 9:47AM I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be GRATEFUL for maternity jeans. Pants have been my largest dilemma thus far, and with Fall coming up I was getting nervous about how many days in a row one can wear leggings and still retain some modicom of dignity. Then, the other day, the heavens parted and my jeans from the Gap arrived. While I am not a stickler for prices on quality clothing, I definitely hesitated at spending $250 for J Brand jeans that probably are more form than function, even for pregnancy. I really really am all about being comfortable at this point so I thought I'd get my swollen feet wet with these cheap and cheerful, but still good quality jeans from the Gap. And I've heard a lot about how nasty maternity jeans are - how they aren't cute and they are unflattering and also pretty uncomfortable. But I have to say, these jeans I just got are fucking awesome. I swear, they should NOT call them maternity jeans. They have an elastic demi panel so they should be called "Any day you feel like a fatass pants". And when you're pregnant, you pretty much feel like a fatass every day, even if it is for a good cause, and even if you're not a real life rhino fatass, you still really feel like one. But when you're normal human, without an extra human along for the ride, you definitely have nasty days, and on those days, you should wear these.
It is literally sweatpants on top, sass on the bottom.
A mullet for your lower half, shall we say.

Disclaimer - i do not look like this girl in these pictures.
my ass is significantly fatter. but it's for a good cause.
I can't believe I am even writing these words, but I feel like an idiot for not having these pants when its that time of the month. Seriously. This is a revelation.
